“Preach the Gospel always, and when necessary, use words.”
- St. Francis of Assisi
Mass at the Sheil Catholic Center is a vibrant and prayerful experience. Our community of students and associates, young and old, unite to joyfully celebrate the Word of God and the Eucharist.
Homilies are challenging, inspiring and relevant to all walks of life. Our music incorporates a wide variety of styles, including traditional, contemporary and praise. Our prayer is reverent. All who enter are welcomed unequivocally, regardless of religious background — without questions, assumptions or opinions.
Liturgy and worship are at the heart of Sheil. We offer numerous and regular opportunities to celebrate Mass:

During Northwestern University’s winter, spring and summer breaks, we change our Mass schedule and Chapel hours slightly and update our Event Calendar regularly to reflect these changes.
