You Belong Here
A new student's first night at college can be challenging and exciting. That’s why the Sheil Catholic Center created a program to ensure that new Northwestern students know they have a place where they are always welcome — and friends to whom they can always turn.
First Night @ Sheil gives new Northwestern University students a chance to meet their new classmates and spend the night at Sheil before moving onto campus.
Activities include a barbecue, campus-wide scavenger hunt, icebreaking games and plenty of opportunities to ask upperclassmen questions about NU and Sheil. After a sleepover, First Night concludes with breakfast before you check into your residence halls.
This unique experience gives you an opportunity to get a headstart on learning more about Northwestern and meeting new friends — plus eases the transition into college. Learn from past First Nighters about their experiences.
If you have other commitments, like Northwestern University Athletics
or Marching Band, you’re still welcome to stop by Sheil at any
time. Come to our free barbeque at 5pm or anytime throughout the evening;
we'd love to meet you and introduce you to other First Night freshmen,
upperclassmen and some staff members.
